The difference between the two passages are pretty evident. Passage A talked about the fears of facing them in the freezing cold. A father and son trying to support each other during this difficult time of death surrounding them. Some of the evidence of them working together and being cold include: "I'll watch over you", "We'll look after each other", "The icy wind whipped my face", "I was constantly licking my lips so they wouldn't freeze". On the other hand, Passage B described a person facing death alone within nature. The weather was described as being warm during the day and cooled off at night. Some of the clues showing differences with passage A include: "Better solitude, better hopeless waiting alone", "no one would remember him"., "to the brightness of hot noon, to the cooling shadows of the evening". Thus, even though the people were facing death in front of them, their environment and circumstances of how they faced death were definitely different.
I feel like I did an okay job writing the comparison and contrast between the Night and An Outcast of the Islands. By using the paragraph organizer I was able to organize my thoughts and be able to identify situations that were similar and different. I was able to identify that the people in both passages experienced harsh living conditions, but weather conditions were different. The environment in passage A were cold conditions and passage B was warmer conditions. Also, the difference of facing death alone or with others were evident between the passages.
